O’Malley’s Irish Pub
O’Malley’s Irish Pub is one of the great Irish bars we’re blessed to have in the Kansas City area. It’s also one of Esquire Magazine’s Top 50 Pubs in America.
O’Malley’s Irish Pub Will Put You 60 Feet Under
O’Malley’s cellar is magic. It sits inside what was once the Weston Brewing Company layering cellars, completed in 1842. The cellars are 60 feet underground but are alive with Irish music three days a week.
Current owners Michael Coakley and Corey Weinfurt brought the brewery back to its former glory after purchasing it in 2005. You can tour one of the historic log ring cellars while sipping on house ale piped directly from the brewery in a refrigerated line. The limestone walls of the pub are decorated with flags while beer and music provide the ambiance.
Entertainment and Food Make a Warm Irish Welcome
O’Malley’s has two stages and has live music three nights per week. The underground pub and upper cellar are open every day.
The lower cellar is open on weekends only. Delicious pub food is also limited to the weekends with the America Bowman restaurant serving up culinary delight on-site every day until 9 p.m.
If you’re visiting for beer, you’re in luck. The Weston Brewing company serves up Kansas City craft brews like the KC Pale Ale and Old World Pilsner. I’m particularly fond of the themed beers including the O’Malley’s Cream Ale, Leapin’ Leprechaun, and the Li’l Lucy’s Hot Pepper Ale brewed with habaneros.
Next time you’re in Weston, O’Malley’s Irish Pub is a must-visit destination.
