Lake Atalanta
Lake Atalanta is a reservoir along Prairie Creek in Rogers, Arkansas, used primarily for recreation, built in 1936 by the Works Progress Administration. The lake is named for Atalanta Gregory, the wife of O.L. Gregory, who donated most of the land that now forms the lake. Lake Atalanta Park is a 236 acre park that includes the Railyard Bike Park.
The lake has 5 pavilions, one with a fireplace, three bathroom facilities, drinking fountains, pet stations, and two different playground areas.
The lake loop is less than two miles, but we extended our bike ride up the trailhead to Railyard Bike Park. Railyard Bike Park sits right smack dab in the center of Rogers and is connected to 40 miles of paved bike paths that weave through town and to the Atalanta trail system.
