Big Biscuit
Biscuits are good. Big Biscuits are better.
The Big Biscuit started serving breakfast in Kansas City back in 2000. Now with 12 location in Kansas City (and three more outliers in Lawrence, Topeka, and St. Joseph), you can count on the Big Biscuit for big servings, big interior pictures of Kansas City history, and a big menu with healthy and not so healthy options.
When you’re not in the mood for a French crepe at Chezelle or Lox and Bagel Platter from the Classic Cup Cafe, the Big Biscuit will call your name, even when you wish it wouldn’t. Go anyway. It’s great fun reading the names of the entries — the Popeye (spinach and mushroom omelete) or the back of the wait staff’s shirts.

I had resisted going to the Big Biscuit for years thinking it would be low-quality, unhealthy food. Boy was I wrong. The food is great as is the service and Big Biscuit has lighter options and gluten-free options, too. Who knew?
