Fresh seafood isn’t what comes to mind when you visit Kansas City, but Chef Carlos Falcon is out to change that. Falcon will make you a Mexican seafood believer after tasting his Grilled Baby Octupus or Shrimp Aquachilles.
Still timid? You can’t go wrong ordering the Fired Grilled Golden Trout. The menu caters to kids, too.
Jarocho’s cinder block blue exterior, located next to a tire shop in industril KCK, looks like it was flown over from Oaxaca, Mexico. The location isn’t suited for those requiring valet parking or Country Club Plaza window shopping.
For foodies who want wowed by a award-winning chef from Veracruz, this is a must visit restaurant. Jaraco is the winner of Feast magazine’s 2018 and 2019 best seafood and best Mexican restaurant awards. Belly up to the bar and enjoy a $38 shot of Jarocho’s best tequila.
Chef Falcon and his wife also operate a south Jarocho location at 13145 State Line, Kansas City, MO 64145.
If sushi is your thing, Falcon operates a third restaurant in Kansas City’s Brookside neighborhood called Sayachi Sushi.
Sayachi is a concept of Chef Falcon where he brought Chef Yama, who’s had fifteen years of Edomae sushi experience at Ginza Kyubey in Tokyo. Chef brings a combination of finely-honed skill, passion, and expertise to Sayachi.
