The Brass Onion is a concept restaurant that opened early 2018 by the Brancato Family – notorious in Kansas City for its multi-decade catering dominance. They gave its Executive Chef Chris Rohde carte blanche to win over the loyalty of customers with a tantalizing modern American menu with low country flair (aka South Carolina style).
The signature cocktail on the menu is The Brass Onion Gibson. A cousin to the classic vodka or gin martini, except it uses pickled onions instead of briny olives. If you don’t know where to start, order the The Brass Onion Dip, which is a creamy take on the traditional French onion dip, made with deeply caramelized onions and cheese served with herb crostini.
The Brass Onion is located in the Prairiefire Entertainment District. If you gorge yourself at diner, take heart that you can walk it off by going to a museum, nearby exhibit or bowling afterward.
