Grinders KC
Grinders KC began serving New York Style Pizza & Philly Cheesesteaks to starving artists in the now fashionable Crossroads Arts District, KCMO, in 2004. Wherever Grinder’s owner STRETCH goes, the masses follow.
So it wasn’t suprising that crowds soon migrated to his restaurant he purposely staked in the less popular eastside of the Crossroads. STRETCH waived his middle finger at the crowds by carving his restaurant down the middle. The original Grinders is gritty and off-color to appeal to bikers and artists while Grinder’s West is clean and polished appealing to yuppies and Johnson County folk.
Both serve incredible food and brew. Directly behind the restaurant is a huge concert area called Grinders KC, which has an incredible view of the KC skyline and even more incredible line up of bands like Sheryl Crow, Jamey Johnson, Nikki Lane, and Reverend Horton Heat
Whatever you do, do NOT order the death wings. They are just a conversation item on the menu.
If you’re staying in the burbs while in Kansas City, visit Grinders Stonewall in Lenexa, KS. Same great food, same rebelious attitudes.
